About Scrum Poker
Scrum Poker (also known as Planning Poker) is a consensus-based, gamified technique for agile estimation — used to agree on the relative effort of user stories during sprint planning and backlog refinement. By revealing all estimates simultaneously, it prevents anchoring bias and surfaces hidden assumptions that improve the quality of the team's backlog.
scrum-poker.dev is a free, open-session tool built specifically for remote and distributed teams. It requires no sign-up, no install, and no configuration beyond sharing a link.
How it Works
- 1The room creator chooses an estimation scale and configures the auto-reveal timer and tie-breaking preference in Advanced settings.
- 2The unique room link is shared with the team via Slack, Teams, or any chat tool.
- 3Each participant enters a display name and joins — no account needed. Spectators can join without voting.
- 4The facilitator types the current story or task into the task field.
- 5Team members privately select a card. Votes are hidden until revealed.
- 6Votes are revealed simultaneously — either manually or by the auto-reveal timer — and the app shows the average and consensus value.
- 7If estimates diverge, the team discusses, then resets for another round.

Smart Consensus
After reveal, the app instantly calculates the average and rounds to the nearest value on your deck. Tie-breaking direction (Round Down / Up) is yours to choose.
Spectator Mode
Product owners, stakeholders, and designers can join without voting, watching the session unfold without influencing estimates.
No Account Required
